StaffSinger has no accounts and does not collect personal information that identifies you. Your scores and settings are stored only on your device. The only information that leaves your device is anonymous usage statistics and error reports that help us fix the app, and feedback you choose to send yourself.

1. Personal Information We Collect
There is no sign-up, and we do not collect information that could identify you, such as your name, email address or location. We use no advertising or tracking tools. Every feature of the app, including note entry, playback and dictating note names by voice, works on your device without an internet connection.
Only two kinds of information leave your device: anonymous usage statistics and error reports that the app sends automatically (section 5), and comments you send yourself with Send Feedback in Settings (section 4).
2. Camera and Photo Library
- Camera: accessed only to photograph paper sheet music for use as a reference image on screen. iOS asks for your permission when you first take a photo. If you decline, every other feature remains available.
- Photo library: the app uses Apple's PHPicker (the system photo picker), so it never has access to your whole library and receives only the photos you pick yourself.
- Images you take or import are used in memory only to display them in the app. They are never sent to an external server or shared with third parties.
3. Microphone and Speech Recognition
- The app asks for microphone and speech recognition permission only when you use the feature that turns spoken note names into notes. When the app is set to a language other than Korean, it uses English speech recognition: say “do re mi fa sol la ti” with English pronunciation, and “rest” for a rest. If you decline, every other feature remains available.
- Speech recognition is set to use only Apple's on-device recognition, so your voice is never sent to Apple's or the developer's servers.
- Recorded sound is never saved and is discarded as soon as recognition finishes.
4. Sending Feedback (only when you choose to)
When you send feedback from Settings, the following information is sent to the developer's Apple iCloud (CloudKit) storage:
- What you wrote and the type of feedback
- Your name and email address, only if you choose to enter them (so we can reply)
- App version, device model, iOS version, and language and region settings (to help reproduce problems)
This information is used only to answer your inquiry and improve the app. It is never shared with or sold to third parties. If you would like feedback you sent to be deleted, let us know using the contact details below.
5. Anonymous Usage Statistics
To learn how many people use the app and to fix errors, StaffSinger sends the following anonymous statistics to Apple iCloud (CloudKit). Only the developer can read them.
- A random ID created at installation (not linked to your device, your Apple ID or other apps; it changes if you reinstall)
- App version, iOS version, and region and language settings
- How many times and on which days you opened the app, the installation date, and the number of days since installation
- In-app events, such as whether the satisfaction prompt appeared or whether feedback was sent (never what you wrote)
- Diagnostic reports when the app freezes or quits unexpectedly (app version, iOS version, device type and technical details of the error)
No user content such as your name, contact details, location or scores is included. Statistics are sent only while the device is signed in to iCloud.
6. Where Data Is Stored
The scores you create and your app settings are stored only on your device. No one, including the developer, can access this data. Deleting the app also deletes its data.
7. Third Parties and Analytics Tools
We use no advertising SDKs, external analytics tools or tracking technologies of any kind. Feedback and anonymous usage statistics are kept in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit), and no information is provided to any other third party.
8. Children's Privacy
The app does not automatically collect personal information that could identify you, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will announce it on this page and update the effective date.
