Frequently asked questions

How do I save a note?

Tap + in the top corner, pick a type (Parking, Locker, Room, Code, Note), type the value, and tap Save. Choose whether it forgets after 1 hour, 8 hours, or 24 hours.

A note disappeared. Can I get it back?

No. When its time runs out, a note is permanently deleted from your device. There is no archive or backup. If you need it longer, swipe the note right before it expires to keep it another 24 hours.

How do I put it on my Lock Screen?

Long-press the Lock Screen, tap Customize ▸ Lock Screen, tap the widget area, and add the Externalize widget. A small Home Screen widget is also available.

Can I save with Siri?

Say “Remember in Externalize”. You can also use the Remember action in the Shortcuts app, or assign it to the Action Button in Settings ▸ Action Button.

How do I copy a value?

Tap a note in the list and its value is copied. Swipe left to delete it right away.

Will my notes move to a new iPhone?

No. Notes are stored only on this device and are never sent to iCloud or any server. Deleting the app deletes your notes.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone running iOS 17 or later.

Is there anything to buy?

No. Every feature is free, with no limit on how many notes you keep.
