Voice control and accessibility features stay free for everyone, always.

What it is

Not My Tempo is a metronome you control entirely by voice while you play — no screen taps, and no need to enable any iOS system Voice Control or Accessibility setting. It also includes a built-in chromatic tuner.

Getting started

1. Open the app — it starts listening automatically.
2. Grant Microphone & Speech permission the first time.
3. Just say a command, or tap the controls.

Tip: use earphones so the click doesn't leak into the mic — it keeps voice recognition and the tuner accurate.

Voice commands

"start" / "stop"play / pause
"faster" / "slower"±5 BPM
"up" / "down"±1 BPM
"tempo 120"set an exact value

"three beats"set the time signature
"quarter / eighth / triplet / sixteenth"subdivision
"louder" / "quieter" / "mute"click volume

Voice recognition is English (US). Every command also works by tapping the on-screen controls.

Tuner

Say tune (or tap the waveform button on the tempo card). Play a note — when the indicator lands inside the green zone, you're in tune. Say close to exit.

Battery

To save power, listening automatically turns off after a few minutes with no commands. Tap Listen to turn it back on.

Troubleshooting

It isn't hearing me. Check the Microphone status reads "Listening". If it's off, tap Listen. In noisy rooms or on loudspeakers, use earphones.

Tempo detection is off by half/double. Say "double" or "half" to correct it.
