Privacy Policy
Effective: October 16, 2026
1. Information we collect and store
| Information | Purpose | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you take (stickers, originals, motion frames) | Making stickers, changing their shape, printing and exporting stickers | On your device |
| Location (optional) | Recording the place name on a sticker | On your device (converting coordinates to a place name uses Apple’s system geocoding) |
| Captions and book setup (paper, order) | Organizing your collection | On your device |
| Settings | Remembering how the app behaves | On your device |
The app does not send the information above to the developer or to any third-party server. (Anonymous usage statistics are covered in section 7, and feedback you send yourself in section 6.)
2. How permissions are used
- Camera — Needed for the core feature of punching stickers. It is used only while the camera screen is showing, and you can always check this with the green indicator light in iOS.
- Add to Photos (optional) — Used only when you save a finished sticker to the Photos app. Other photos in your library are not read.
- Location (optional) — If you allow it, the place name is recorded on your stickers. Every feature still works if you decline.
3. iMessage stickers (App Group)
So that the Messages extension (“Punching Stickers”) can read the stickers you have collected, they are copied to a shared App Group folder on your device. This never leaves your device either. When you send a sticker in Messages, it travels through Apple iMessage, and Apple’s terms apply to that transmission.
4. Sticker keyboard (Allow Full Access)
The Punching Stickers keyboard shows the stickers the app has placed in the on-device App Group folder, and copies the sticker you tap to the clipboard so you can paste it into other apps. This requires iOS’s “Allow Full Access”, but the keyboard does not read or store what you type, and does not connect to the internet.
5. Sharing and exporting
Sharing images, printable PDFs and exporting sticker PNGs and GIFs happens only when you start it yourself, and you choose the destination in the system share sheet.
6. Sending feedback
If you send feedback with “Send Feedback” on the Support screen, what you write (the type of feedback, your message, any screenshot you attach, and the name and email you leave for a reply) along with the app version, device model, OS version and language setting reaches the developer through Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) storage. It is used only to reply and to improve the app, and if you don’t send anything, nothing is transmitted. If you would like feedback you sent to be deleted, please let us know at the contact below.
7. Anonymous usage statistics and error reports
To know how many people use the app and to fix errors, Punching sends the anonymous statistics below to Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) storage, where only the developer can read them.
- A random identifier created when you install the app (it is not linked to you, your device, your Apple ID or other apps, and it changes if you reinstall the app)
- App version, iOS version, and region and language settings
- How many times you opened the app, the dates you opened it, and the date you installed it (as days since installation)
- Diagnostic reports when the app crashes or freezes (app version, iOS version, device model and technical information about the error)
Names, contact details, location, and anything you create, such as photos, stickers and captions, are not included. Statistics are sent only when the device is signed in to iCloud.
8. Deleting data
- When you delete a sticker, the sticker, its original photo, its motion data and its copy for Messages are permanently deleted from your device right away.
- When you delete the app, all of its data is deleted with it. (External backups follow your iCloud or device backup settings.)
9. Children’s privacy
Regardless of age, Punching does not itself collect or transmit personally identifiable information. You don’t need to enter a name or email when you send feedback.
