Frequently asked questions

My sticker doesn’t move

  1. At the top right of the camera, go to ⚙️ Settings ▸ View and check that Autoplay Motion is on.
  2. Tap the sticker and, under Shape, check that Motion is on. Motion is always captured with it, so you can turn it on any time.
  3. Photos imported from the Photos app are a single frame, so they don’t move.

I got a stamp instead of a cut-out sticker

Scenes with nothing to cut out, like a landscape, are automatically torn off as a stamp. You can change this any time under Shape after tapping the sticker, and if you want to start with stamps from the beginning, change ⚙️ Settings ▸ Punch Out ▸ Default Shape.

I can’t see my stickers in Messages

In Messages, tap the ＋ button next to the text field ▸ Stickers and look for Punching Stickers. It appears once you have punched at least one sticker in Punching, and if you have more than one book you can browse them book by book. You’ll find detailed steps in ⚙️ Settings ▸ Use ▸ Use in Messages and Keyboard.

I want to print real stickers

Tap ⋯ at the top right of a book ▸ Use ▸ Printable Sticker Sheet (PDF). A 300dpi printable PDF (with stamp-shaped cut lines) is made for the whole book, ready to use with sticker paper on a home printer or at a print shop. For step-by-step instructions, see the Printing Guide in the same menu.

Where did my old collections go?

Since 1.0.1, the way stickers are grouped has become a single thing: books. Each collection became a book with the same name, and the stickers, backgrounds and order in it were carried over as they were. If a name was already taken, “(Collection)” was added to the end.

There’s a green light in the status bar

That’s the iOS camera indicator. It stays on only while the camera screen is showing, and the camera stops, and the light goes off, while you have a book open.

What happens when I delete a sticker?

The sticker, its original photo and its motion data are permanently deleted from your device, and it disappears from the sticker drawer in Messages too. It can’t be recovered, so be careful!
