Rainbow Workshop (the app) is a local-first app with no server of its own. This document explains what the app handles, where it stores it, and what it never does.

In short. What you write (to-dos, plans, routines) is stored only on your device and in your own private iCloud database, and the developer cannot reach it. To keep improving the app, it does send anonymous usage statistics — numbers such as app version, launch count, and how many items you have. These never include anything you wrote or anything that identifies you, and you can turn them off in Settings.

1. What the app does not collect

The app does not collect any of the following.

Account or contact details such as your name, email address, or phone number
Location
Advertising identifiers and tracking data (for usage statistics, see section 7 — no advertising identifier is used and nothing is given to third parties)
Other data on your device, such as contacts or photos

There is no sign-up and no login.

Your calendar is read only when you choose to run Import from Calendar. See section 4.

2. What you write

To do its job, the app stores what you type on your device.

Plan blocks (activity, success criteria, deliverable, day and time of day, length)
Fixed routines (hours and weekly quota settings)
To-dos and their steps (title, estimated time, whether it is done, order, and your answers to the fragment questions)
To-do categories (name, color, icon)
Reviews (done, partly done, skipped, notes)
Anything shared in from another app (the title)

This data is used only to provide the app's features. It is never sent to the developer and never given to third parties.

3. Where it is stored

Everything is stored on your device through Apple's SwiftData. If you are signed in to iCloud, it is stored in your own private iCloud database (container iCloud.com.devkoan.ScheduleDensity) and syncs automatically between devices on the same iCloud account.

Storage and transfer through iCloud are governed by Apple's privacy policy. The developer cannot access your private iCloud database.

Content shared in from another app waits briefly in an app group area on your device until the app picks it up. That file never leaves your device.

4. Reading your Mac Calendar

Only when you have chosen calendars in Settings and run Import from Calendar does the app read the titles and times of events in those calendars and turn them into plan blocks for the week. It only reads; it never writes to or changes your calendar.

What it reads is stored in the same place as everything else you write (your device and your own iCloud) and is never sent to the developer. If you choose no calendars, nothing is read.

macOS requires full access permission in order to read events. Despite the name of the permission, this app only reads.

5. Sharing with other people

When you use sharing, whoever receives the invitation link you created can see that list or schedule. You decide entirely what is shared and with whom, and once you stop sharing they can no longer see it.

Anyone holding an invitation link can join, so send it only to people you mean to share with. Sharing uses Apple's CloudKit sharing directly, and the developer does not hold your data in between.

6. Sending questions and feedback

When you send a question or feedback from the Settings screen, what you wrote at that moment and your app version are sent to an iCloud container the developer runs (iCloud.com.Ysoup.FeedbackHub). It is used only to answer you and to fix the app.

This happens only when you press send yourself. If you write by email, your address is used only to reply. The one thing that travels without you pressing anything is the anonymous usage statistics in section 7, and nothing you wrote is part of it.

7. Anonymous usage statistics

Without knowing what actually gets used, there is no way to know what to fix. The app sends the least that answers that question, anonymously.

What is sent

App version, macOS version, device kind (Mac/iPhone), language setting
How many times the app has been launched, how many days since it was installed, when it was last used
How many to-dos, completed to-dos, categories, plan blocks, and fixed routines exist
The name of an action only (for example "added a to-do", "imported from calendar", "opened the paywall"). The same name is sent at most once a day.
Whether you currently have Pro — a single value indicating yes or no. It does not include which product you bought, when, or for how much. It is used to see how people on the free version and people who purchased use the app differently, and nothing is sent before your purchase status has been checked.

What is not sent

Anything you wrote in a to-do, plan, or routine — not a single character, titles included.
Your name, email address, Apple Account, device identifiers, location, or identification by IP address

What is sent is tied together only by a single random number the app generates when it is installed. That number has nothing to do with your device or your Apple Account, and it disappears when you delete the app. Reinstalling does not reconnect you to earlier records.

It is stored in the same developer-run iCloud container as feedback (iCloud.com.Ysoup.FeedbackHub) and is read only to improve the app. It is never used for advertising, never given or sold to third parties, and never matched against data from other companies.

How to turn it off. Settings › Usage Statistics › turn off "Send anonymous usage statistics", and nothing further leaves that device. To have already-sent records deleted, ask at the email address below.

8. Purchases

Pro is purchased only through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment. The developer never receives or stores your card number or payment method.

The app records only whether a purchase exists. On another Mac using the same Apple Account, Restore Purchase brings it back.

9. Keeping and deleting

Data is kept until you delete it or remove the app.

You can delete individual items inside the app.
Deleting the app removes the data stored on that device.
Data synced to iCloud can be managed or deleted on your device under Settings, Apple Account, iCloud, Manage Storage.
If you want feedback you sent or your usage statistics to be deleted, ask at the email address below.

10. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the law or the app's features change. If something important changes, it will be announced on this page and the last updated date above will change.
