This policy explains how the Goldweek app (“the app”) handles your information. In short, everything you enter stays on your device or in your own iCloud. We only receive anonymous usage statistics, anonymous crash reports and any feedback you choose to send us.
At a glance
- There is no sign-up or account. We never ask for your email address or phone number.
- Your leave records, settings and notes are stored on your device and are never sent to us.
- There are no ads. We don't use the advertising identifier (IDFA), we don't track you across other apps, and we don't use any third-party analytics SDKs.
- To improve the app, we collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit). They are not linked to you.
Information stored on your device
Everything you enter in the app stays on your device, stored with Apple's SwiftData framework: the name on your profile, your country and region, your annual leave settings, your leave records (dates, types, reasons and notes), bonus leave, custom holidays and custom leave types. The Home Screen widget reads the same data on your device. We have no access to it.
Your iCloud
- iCloud Backup: if you turn it on, a copy of your data is saved in your own private iCloud account. It is protected by Apple, and we can't read it.
- Schedule sharing: if you share your schedule, your name, country and the dates, types and status of your leave are shared through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit sharing) only with the people you invite. Leave reasons and notes are not shared. You can stop sharing at any time in the app.
Information we receive
- Anonymous usage statistics: so we can tell whether the app is actually useful, it sends anonymous statistics to the developer's iCloud (CloudKit). These include counts and settings, such as how many leave entries you have, your total and used annual leave days, how many suggestions you accepted, the country and user type you chose, whether Pro is active and which options are turned on, along with the app version, language and the names of features you use (for example, “opened the app”). They never include leave reasons, dates, names or notes, nor any device identifier (IDFA/IDFV) or location. Each installation uses a random identifier that isn't linked to you, your Apple Account or your device, and a new one is created if you delete and reinstall the app.
- Crash reports: if the app crashes or freezes, Apple's MetricKit provides an anonymous diagnostic report (call stack, app version, OS version and device model), which the app forwards to the developer's iCloud. It contains no personal information or identifiers.
- Feedback: when you send feedback from the app, we receive your message, the feedback type, the app version, language, device model and platform, plus a name and email address only if you choose to enter them. We use this only to reply to you and improve the app.
Permissions
Every permission is optional, and the app works without them.
- Calendar (Pro): to add your leave to a separate Goldweek calendar, and to find all-day events that look like time off so you can import them. Events are read on your device, nothing is sent to us, and nothing is imported without your confirmation.
- Camera and photos: to photograph your company's leave history screen, or to pick a screenshot of it, so your past leave can be imported. The text is recognized on your device with Apple's Vision framework, and the image is neither kept nor sent anywhere. When you pick a photo, the app only sees the photo you choose.
- Notifications: for reminders that are scheduled on your device.
Travel suggestions (Korean only)
When you use the app in Korean, some screens can show travel deals from our partner MyRealTrip. To fetch them, the app sends only the destination city, the travel dates or number of nights, and the departure airport to MyRealTrip's partner API. No name, identifier or other personal information is sent. Opening a deal takes you to the MyRealTrip website, where MyRealTrip's own privacy policy applies.
Purchases
Goldweek Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Apple (StoreKit). We never receive your payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether a valid purchase exists.
Third-party services
We use Apple services (iCloud/CloudKit, StoreKit and MetricKit) and, for travel suggestions in Korean only, MyRealTrip. We don't use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we never sell your data or share it with data brokers.
Keeping and deleting data
Deleting the app removes all data on your device. You can delete your iCloud backup and shared data in the app or in your device's iCloud settings. Anonymous statistics and crash reports can't be traced back to you. If you'd like us to delete feedback you sent, just email us.
Children
The app is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
