Moonlit Arcade · Last updated 16 October 2026
Summary: Moonlit Arcade has no sign-up, login, ads or tracking, and every game takes place directly between devices without the internet. The app sends the developer anonymous usage statistics and error reports, such as how many devices it’s used on. Beyond that, content reaches the developer only when you choose to send feedback from within the app.

1. Overview

This policy explains how Moonlit Arcade (the ‘App’) handles your information. The App is a collection of offline party games that connects nearby devices directly, and it works without any dedicated server or account.

2. Information we don’t collect

The App does not collect any information that can personally identify you, such as your name, contact details, email address, location or advertising identifier. Because there is no game server, game data is never sent or stored anywhere outside your devices. Anonymous usage statistics that cannot identify you are sent as described in section 5 below, and feedback (section 6) is sent only when you send it yourself.

3. Information stored only on your device

To keep gameplay smooth, the following information is stored only on your device. It is never sent to an external server, and it is deleted when you delete the App.

ItemPurposeWhere it’s stored
NicknameThe name shown in game roomsLocal storage on the device
Random device identifier (UUID)Lets you reconnect as the same player if the connection dropsLocal storage on the device

You enter your nickname yourself, and it is shown only to nearby devices in the same game while the game is in progress. The device identifier is randomly generated and cannot be used to identify you.

4. Use of the local network (connecting nearby devices)

The App uses local network access to find nearby devices playing the same game (using Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity technology). These connections are made only between nearby players’ devices, and only the data needed to run the game (such as nicknames and game state) is exchanged. Game data is never sent out over the internet.

5. Anonymous usage statistics

To understand how many people use the App and to fix errors, Moonlit Arcade sends the following anonymous statistics to Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit). Only the developer can see them.

They never include your name, contact details, location, nickname or game content. They are sent only while you are signed in to iCloud.

6. Sending feedback

When you send feedback yourself from Settings (cog icon) > Support, the following information is delivered to the developer through Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) public database. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.

ItemNotes
Feedback type and messageWritten by you
Name and email address for repliesOptional · used only to reply to you
Attached screenshotsOnly if you choose to attach them
App version, device model and OS version, language and region settingsSent automatically to help reproduce the issue

Feedback is used only to answer your enquiries and improve the App. If you’d like any feedback you’ve sent to be deleted, let us know at the email address below.

7. Third parties and external services

The App does not use any third-party services, such as ad networks, external analytics SDKs or social login, and it never shares or sells your information to third parties. Only Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) is used to store anonymous statistics and feedback.

8. Children’s privacy

Because the App does not collect personal information, it is safe to use at any age. We ask parents and guardians to help children avoid including personal information in feedback.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised in line with applicable laws or changes to the App’s features. If it changes, the updated policy and its effective date will be posted on this page.
