MyFi (iOS) · Last updated: October 16, 2026
MyFi does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. The app has no server. Wi-Fi names, passwords, photos and locations are processed and stored only on your device. MyFi uses no advertising, third-party analytics or tracking tools (no SDKs, cookies or advertising identifiers), and there is no sign-up or login. To know how many people use the app and to fix errors, it sends only anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (see section 3).
Used to photograph a Wi-Fi sign and recognize the network name (SSID) and password with text recognition (OCR). The image is analyzed by Apple's Vision framework entirely on your device. Photos and recognition results are never sent anywhere. The photo is used only for recognition and is not kept by the app.
Used when you pick a photo of a Wi-Fi sign from your library, or a shop logo to put on a sign. The app can access only the photos you choose. It does not read your whole photo library and never sends any image anywhere.
Used for two purposes only:
Location is checked only while you are using the app. There is no background tracking and no route history. Coordinates are stored only on your device, together with the Wi-Fi entry, and are never sent anywhere.
All of these permissions are optional. If you decline, most features such as making QR codes and signs still work; only the feature that needs the permission is unavailable. You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings → MyFi.
The following information is stored only on your device. All of it is entered or saved by you.
Data is stored in iOS local storage (UserDefaults). So that the Home Screen widget can show the same list,
the app and widget also share an App Group storage area (group.com.leeo.wifisnap).
This area is on your device and other apps cannot access it.
Note: this data may be included in device backups (iCloud Backup, or a Finder or iTunes backup). Backups are an Apple feature covered by Apple's privacy policy, and the developer cannot access their contents.
MyFi does not run its own server and does not send Wi-Fi details, photos or locations to the developer or to any third party. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs.
To know how many people use the app and to fix errors, MyFi sends the following anonymous statistics to Apple iCloud (CloudKit). Only the developer can read them.
They never include anything you create, such as names, contacts, locations, Wi-Fi names or passwords, or photos. They are sent only when you are signed in to iCloud. The statistics are sent by a shared library written by the developer (LeeoKit) and are not passed on to any third party.
QR code images and sign images you make are passed on only when you tap a share or print button, through the standard iOS share sheet, to the person, app or printer you choose. Where they go is entirely up to you.
Saved information stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete it as follows:
Because the developer keeps no personal data, there is no separate deletion request process. Anonymous usage statistics are not linked to you, so no individual's data can be singled out, and reinstalling the app creates a new random ID.
MyFi is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone, whatever their age. The anonymous usage statistics cannot be traced to any person.
Wi-Fi details never leave your device, so they cannot leak in transit. Wi-Fi passwords are currently kept in iOS local storage (UserDefaults), protected by your device lock (passcode or Face ID) and the iOS app sandbox. If you share your device with others or work in a sensitive environment, we suggest entering passwords when you need them instead of saving them.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. For important changes, such as collecting a new kind of data, we will also mention it in the app's update notes.
