What is Buktu Buktu?
Other maps have already drawn the whole world. The map in Buktu Buktu starts as a blank sheet
of paper, and it fills in one dot at a time only when you walk.
Roads you travel by car or subway aren't drawn.
- A map that grows as you walk — every place you pass is stamped onto the paper.
Paths you take often grow darker, and ones you haven't revisited in three months fade to grey
- Paths you've drawn — what counts isn't distance walked but the length of
new paths. Walk the same road a hundred times and the map doesn't grow
- Stamps — stand where you are and press one of 212 stamps. Snap a shop sign with
the camera and that sign stands on your map
- Visited and want-to-visit places — spots you haven't been to stay as dotted stamps,
and they firm up into visited places once you arrive
- Pioneer Compass — points to the direction that's still white from where you stand
- Film — export a video of your map being drawn
- Only in your iCloud — your steps, diary, and photos live in your personal iCloud,
out of anyone else's sight. Not a single coordinate is sent to the developer
