Privacy Policy

Summary

StickyPresenter has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Your notes, timers, and teleprompter scripts stay on your Mac. Information leaves your Mac in only two cases, and both start with you: when you send us feedback, and when the Remote Controller app on your iPhone connects over your local network.

Data We Collect

We do not collect usage analytics, advertising identifiers, location, or any other information in the background. The only information we receive is the feedback you choose to send (see "Feedback" below).

Your Content

The notes, timers, and teleprompter text you create are stored only on your Mac (notes in ~/Library/Application Support/StickyPresenter, settings in the app's preferences). The notification-center widget reads timer status from a shared container on the same Mac. None of this is uploaded to us or to any third party.

Clipboard

When you choose "New from Clipboard" or paste into the teleprompter, the app reads the clipboard solely to place that text into a note or script on your device. Clipboard contents are not stored separately, logged, or transmitted.

Feedback (optional)

If you send feedback from the app's settings, we receive what you write (the type of feedback and your message), your name and email address only if you enter them, and basic technical details to help us fix problems: app version and build, Mac model identifier, macOS version, and your language and region setting. It is stored in our database on Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) and used only to read, answer, and act on your feedback. Nothing is sent until you press Send. To have your feedback deleted, email us at the address below.

Rating Prompt

The app counts launches on your Mac to decide when to ask whether you are enjoying it. If you are, it shows Apple's standard rating prompt; if not, it offers the feedback form. The count never leaves your Mac.

Local Network

So that the Remote Controller iPhone app can find it, StickyPresenter advertises a timer service (_sp-timer) on your local network using Apple's MultipeerConnectivity, and macOS may ask you to allow Local Network access. A connected iPhone exchanges only timer information (name, remaining time, state, widget size, theme, and the widget's position on your screens) and the commands you tap; the connection is encrypted and direct between the two devices. Your notes and teleprompter scripts are never sent. Connecting requires a four-digit pairing code: only an iPhone that matches the code shown under menu bar → Remote, or one the Mac has remembered from passing that code before, can connect. The code and the list of remembered iPhones are kept on your Mac. You can clear every remembered device with Forget Paired Remotes at any time, or draw a fresh code with New Pairing Code. Quitting StickyPresenter also stops the service being advertised. See the Remote Controller privacy policy for details.

Internet and Third Parties

Apart from sending feedback through Apple's iCloud, the app makes no internet requests. It contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking, and we do not sell or share your information with anyone.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
