Help for parents and kids
Palang Book is a flipbook animation app for kids. Trace a video or a built-in guide one page at a time, and your drawing turns into an animation. Every button is a picture, so kids can use it before they can read.

Getting started
- Tap a guide card (orange dashed border) on the home screen to start tracing. There are 10 sets: a ball, a bunny, a bird and more.
- Or shoot a video with the blue camera, bring one in from the Photos app with the green video button, or paste a link to a video file into the indigo link (🔗) button. The white paper card (gray dashed border) starts a blank flipbook.
- Draw a page, tap the orange arrow to move to the next one, and when you’re done, press play ▶. Your drawing moves!
Frequently asked questions
How do the guides (presets) work?
The light sky-blue lines are the guide. Your child traces over them, and when you press play the guide disappears so only the child’s lines move. Finish about 20 pages and the animation is done.
I want to play or save just the drawing, without the video
In a video project, tap the video icon in the toolbar at the top. When it turns pink (with a slash), playback and saving show only the drawing on a white background. Only the pages you drew are played, so drawing just the first few pages of a long video still gives you a short animation.
Where are finished videos saved?
Tap the green save button at the right end of the toolbar and an mp4 video is saved to the Photos app. Please allow access to Photos the first time you save.
How do we add a voice?
Tap the microphone button. The animation keeps looping while the voice is recorded; tap the stop button to finish. Recording again replaces the previous take. When you save, the voice is included in the video.
A video link won’t open
Check your internet connection, and make sure the link points directly to a video file (for example, an address ending in .mp4). Links to pages on video-sharing websites can’t be opened. To respect copyright, please use your own videos or ones that are free to use.
How do I delete a project?
On the home screen, touch and hold a project card to bring up the delete option. Deleting a project also removes its drawings, voice recording and imported video.
My palm leaves marks while drawing (Apple Pencil)
Tap the undo button (curved arrow) to remove the last line, or the red trash button to clear the whole page; undo brings it back. If it keeps happening, email us and we’ll help.
What’s free, and what does the Lifetime Pass unlock?
Free: 3 trace-along sets (ball, bunny, flower), 3 saved works, 1 video import, up to 10 pages in a blank flipbook, and up to 15 seconds of voice recording. Videos saved with the free version end with a short Palang Book card. The Lifetime Pass unlocks every set (including future ones), unlimited works, pages, videos and recording time, and removes the end card. It’s a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and you can share it with your family through Family Sharing. If you were already using Palang Book before the Lifetime Pass arrived, everything stays unlocked.
Why is there a math question before the purchase screen?
So kids can’t reach a price on their own. When your child taps something locked, they see a big lock and “Show this to a grown-up.” The purchase screen opens only after a grown-up types the answer to a multiplication question.
How do I restore my purchase?
Tap the gear at the top right of the home screen, choose Lifetime Pass, answer the grown-up question, then tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.
How do I send feedback from the app?
Tap the gear on the home screen and choose Send Feedback. You can attach screenshots, and leave a name and email if you’d like a reply. We ask that a parent send feedback.
