Frequently asked questions

Why are the gaps between events all different?

Yeoul spaces events by the time that actually passed between them. Every gap uses the same scale, so three days and five days are drawn 3:5. Events that are very close keep a minimum distance so they don't overlap, and very long stretches are folded into a dotted line labelled with the real duration, such as "2 years 4 months".

I can't see the photos I took that day.

Finding photos by date needs access to your photo library. Go to Settings → Yeoul → Photos and allow access. Yeoul looks for photos taken from midnight to midnight on that date, in your device's time zone. If you'd rather not grant access, use the choose manually button right below to pick from your library instead.

What is a tag timeline?

Tap a tag on any event and Yeoul gathers every event with the same tag, from all of your timelines, into a single timeline. Tags you look at often can be saved so they stay in your list.

Can I add an event without opening the app?

Yes. In the Shortcuts app or with Siri, use Log an Event: pick a timeline, give the event a title, and it is saved with the current time unless you choose a date.

Can I see my records on other devices?

Devices signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account stay in sync automatically, including the Mac app. Check that iCloud is turned on in Settings → Apple Account → iCloud. Depending on your network, changes can take a little while to appear.

How do I delete my records?

Swipe a timeline to the left in the list, or tap Edit, to delete it. Deleting a timeline also deletes the events inside it. Data left in iCloud can be removed under Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Are my records sent to the developer?

No. Your records and photos are stored only on your devices and in your own iCloud; the developer cannot see them. Yeoul sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports that contain none of your content. See the Privacy Policy for details.
